Glory Kamat

Glory was introduced to PLI through Sugar Creek Baptist Church during a chance visit in January 2022. She had returned from a short-term trip in 2021, where she served a war-torn community and was eager to connect with similar refugee communities in Houston. That March, Glory volunteered as a helper in ESL classes and joined the PLI Board of Directors in May 2022.  

Glory was an oil and gas geologist for Marathon Oil Company for 20+ years. During this season, she has been spending more time with friends and family and volunteering as an ESL teacher at PLI.  

Glory earned her undergraduate degree in India and came to the United States for graduate studies in geology. She has lived in the Houston area with her family since 2000. In her free time, she enjoys cooking and gardening.
